From Voice to VoiceTree: Our Story!

Table of Contents

Indian telephony market is rising exponentially. Mobile phones are playing their part. We are using both voice and data. While data is still picking up, our craze to ‘talk’ shall never diminish.

Ankit Jain, founder VoiceTree Technologies, believes in the potential of Voice as a medium. After his college time at BIT Mesra he decided to join a Voice technology startup. Foregoing tempting package from the campus placement, the idea was to learn by slogging, for there is no easy way to grow. Within a year, he worked on various upcoming speech technologies and some of the most innovative industry applications in voice. Startups teach what none other can. Innovation and Perseverance were the words.

 Voice to VoiceTree

In November 2010, he started VoiceTree Technologies. The entrepreneur within could not wait any longer. The first step was to test the market current and  develop a sustainable technological backbone. The approach was to provide a service and learn from its response. The initial service was aimed at organizations who wanted to provide entertainment facilities on dedicated numbers on a token charge. The service received as high as 20,000 calls in a day. More importantly, it served its purpose to gear head a technological innovation in the form of an in-house Response Engine(TIRE). The team was amazed to see the power of the engine. They tested a wide variation of applications and every time the underlying structure could be depicted by the Engine. This provided an expandable and dependable backdrop for the company.  This engine is powerful enough to address any complex telephony need and provides a simplified product to its users.

‘I know my technology, time to get some products!’, Ankit realized.

Even with the advancement of phone he noticed that businesses still rely heavily on unorganized modes of communication. There was a need for a cloud platform where companies could manage their business telephony needs like managing calls or performing automated confirmations. Though some companies were venturing into this space, he realized the disconnect between their product and Indian SME market requirement. The need was for a much simpler and robust packaged solution which could cater to the market needs immediately. The team went on to develop the two products CODAC and MyOperator over TIRE.

CODAC came as an answer to reducing the humongous efforts involved in handling confirmation requests. It brings confirmation as a service to business users. As a technology on cloud, the scalability and cost effectiveness of the product became an instant attraction. It is presently helping over 10 e-commerce companies in their order confirmation needs at various stages.

MyOperator an IVR service provider focuses on the need of SMEs to manage their calls without any infrastructure or technology hurdle. MyOperator, unlike its other variants in the market, lets businesses create their full working system in just 60 seconds of time. This converts to quick deployment and easy adoption for small businesses in India.

Our initial customers include Snapdeal, Yebhi, Anand Bazaar Patrika, Lenskart, India Against Corruption, Expert Bar to name a few. The customer response humbled us. We have 100 customers in a short span, with no pullbacks. The idea of clients initiating cross product requests fuels our enthusiasm.

Our revenues have increased by 300% in the last three months. With the team growth at over 50% in the same period, we are building a strong team working for a smarter future. Ankit is very optimistic about the market potential. With the promise to deliver quality cloud telephony experience leveraging cloud call center solution, the product portfolio will see much more innovation in the near future.
